The development features 380 apartments built over a common three-level basement, ideally located to the east and west of North Ryde train station. This dynamic precinct spans four buildings up to 16 storeys in height.
We work closely with our clients to accommodate their requirements, and when faced with a challenging request we will always find an effective solution. Halfway through the build for Centrale, the client wanted us to move a column. While many builders would find this an impossible ask, we worked with our experienced engineers to find a way to move the column retrospectively, and still delivered the project on time.
Building near busy train tunnels requires careful planning to ensure residents are insulated from noise and vibrations. One of the development’s four towers was positioned so close to the tunnel that vibrations would have affected the residents living there. This issue was solved by adding giant springs under the building’s footing, which isolated the tower from the ground. When the ground vibrates, the springs absorb the movement, leaving the building above unaffected.
